I've been very busy creating lots of clay hearts, birds and flowers. I got really inspired after I made a few clay decorations for Christmas. Although I had Valentines Day in mind when I made huge amounts of these hearts, but even without a special occasion I think it's nice to have pretty things around the house.
If you like them sets are available to buy from my madeit shop http://www.madeit.com.au/Bronwyn%20Morton. Or if you have any requests or questions you can always just send me an email.
I love baking, the decorating side more than anything else (it's all about the visuals). These were some cupcakes I baked the other day. They were too cute not to take pictures of.
Makes me want to dress up in some adorable vintage outfit and play ladies on the lawn. Where I will drink cups of tea out of Nana's fine china and eat cucumber sandwiches and delicate cakes.
I may have had a little too much to drink last night. (Not the first time nor the last.) Anyway I drew the below sketch whilst under the infulence. I think I drew it as a little reminder to myself; everything in moderation. The top image is the more refined version I did whilst a little worse for wear the morning after. Hangover tips anyone???
I'd like to think that this will stop me from having a drink tonight but it is the weekend afterall. Bottoms up!
I've been trying to really hard to draw in my journal everyday even if I don't feel up to it. I think doing something is better than doing nothing. It is hard though being the perfectionist that I am, so I'm trying hard to lose those control issues and just draw.
'Not my friend's rabbit' is an appropriation of Yuko Murata's 'My Friend's Rabbit' 2004. I couldn't resist creating an adorable picture of a rabbit, it's like Easter came early. So freakin cute! I've included an image of the original work below and just click on the post title to see more of Yuko Murata's amazing work.
I had this dream that I was standing in this department store in front of a display case which had bottles of perfume in it. The display case was one of those 'when opened alarm will sound' types and I was agonising about if I should open it and get out the bottle of perfume I wanted. (Even in my dreams I'm worried I'll make the wrong decision.) I eventually decided to open the case but when I did the perfume had freakishly vanished and all that was left was some crappy knockoff. I guess like in life if you wait too long for something you really want you might not get it at all or you might be left with some cheap imitation of what you thought you wanted.
Went to Dr Sketchys Caberet Life-Drawing in Byron last night, so much fun! The models were absolutely wonderful, so talented. These are just some rough sketches but I plan on do some more 'serious' works based on these. I got plenty of inspiration from last night, which is just what the doctor ordered. Can't wait for Dr Stetchy next month and next time I plan on getting hubby to drive me because as much fun as it was a few cocktails could only add greatness to the mix. Bottoms Up!
